It's all About High Marks

Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy, SR Nagar, Hyderabad, Oct. 6: The results of Monday's IIT Unit Test-6 were declared today. Abhiroop from JIIT1 (ISB) topped with a dazzling 395 of 481. The test was a common test with the Second Year ISB. There were also a few cases where some students did not qualify in a track or two (primarily Physics Track 2/Newtonian Physics), but nobody failed to qualify the overall cut-off of 60 per subject (P1+P2) and a grand total of 220.

In the other classes which had a different question paper, the topper of JIIT4 actually scored above the topper of JIIT2! The reason for this may be attributed to the fact that in JIIT4, IPE is stressed upon and the question paper was of a mere IPE standard, with a few questions actually having been direct formulae!

The updated schedule was released for all Jr ICON students. There will be a small local IPE Examination on Monday, and no IPE exams after that till at least mid-January. There would be another four IIT Unit Tests.

What has worried students the most is lack of attention being given to IPE, which constitutes the only external exam for the first year.

Comment on IIT Paper
Mr. Vara Prasad, HOD (Mathematics, SR Nagar), said that the IIT UT-6 question paper was highly sub-standard and students would not expect such papers all the time.

New Lecturer Again
In JIIT1 (ISB), Mr. Nanda Gopal replaced Mr. Akbar Kamal as the Physics Track 2 lecturer, citing 'various circumstances.' This is the third teacher for this track. (OTFS)
